Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
We are small hobby breeder of quality Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - mainly concentrating on whole colours (Ruby & Black and Tan). We are located in the North/Western suburbs of Brisbane. Our Cavaliers live inside our home, are taken to work with us and are loved dearly beyond measure.
Within our breeding program, we strive to breed and raise Cavaliers that are equal in parts for temperament, health, type & overall soundness. Our Cavaliers are from local and imported lines and are shown on occasion when time permits. Our Cavaliers do well placing at Specialty Show level under breed specialist judges.
Out of choice and for the health of our Cavaliers, we feed Biologically Appropriate Raw Food (BARF) which is made up and prepared by ourselves.
The dogs being used in our breeding program are screened for:
- Mitral Valve Disease and any heart ailments by a qualified cardiologist Dr Geoff Nicolson: BVSc (Hons) MVETSTUD Dipl. ECVIM-CA
- Eye diseases by qualified (FAVSC) ophthalmologist Dr Michael Bernays: BVSc FANZCVS
- DNA testing by Massey University (New Zealand) for Curly Coat/Dry Eye (CC/DE) & Episodic Falling (EF) and for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
On occasion, when we breed a litter of puppies they are whelped and raised inside our home. They are given a lot of care, love and affection from the moment they are born. We try to socialise them as much as practically possible by getting them used to all sorts of household sounds, with our other Cavaliers when they are old enough and other human contact inside our home - generally family and close friends whom are also breeders. The puppies are wormed and they receive their vaccination and microchip at 6 weeks of age which is performed by our vet - Rosewood Veterinary Services.
We don’t have any puppies available at present or any plans in the near future, however, always happy to assist in breed queries or raw feeding queries. You are welcome to follow us on Facebook and Instagram and see the lives of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
